The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is presently acting as interim chairman of the RERA authority in Tamil Nadu. The State Government of Tamil Nadu passed the RERA Rules on June 22, 2017. Ramaprabhu, honorary secretary of the Builder Association of India's Southern Centre, Chennai, said a full-time chairman and members were essential for smooth functioning of the authority.
